In Upgrade, Pink is recruited alongside the other training robots to take part in an actual military operation by Ignacio Dominguez and led by Spartan Louie Vargas to investigate a suspected Flood outbreak, much to Pink's pleasure. Upon landing on Outpost High Ground with Louie and the other robots in Deception, she goes with Louie and Blue to the main gate of the outpost. Once there, the three encounter the bodies of Jack O'Brien and Linda Kelen as Louie realizes he was lied to about why he was sent to High Ground. Before anyone could react, Louie is shot in the head by an unknown attacker as Pink and Blue run to meet up with Yellow and Green. The four attempt to come up with a plan, but when they notice Red had been incapacitated they are met with three Sangheili and a soldier clad in black armor.
The next day, in Ambush, Riel and Kazi hold Pink and the other robots as prisoner as Riel explains that she and her companions are members of The Damned before Corvus enters to explain the situation and attempts recruiting Pink and the other robots to join The Damned. Upon agreeing, Pink pairs with Corvus on a mongoose and are left as the only survivors when they were spontaneously ambushed by Emery Eden, narrowly escaping by driving into the nearby ocean.
