Spartan Louie Vargas was a SPARTAN-IV supersoldier who worked for SAFE under Ignacio Dominguez, voiced by Syp The Mighty.
Personality
Louie is a jovial and naive man who worked often with Alana Reynolds.
Role in Plot
Events of Season 1
In Team Cosmo!, Louie and Alana Reynolds observe the video message left by a now-deceased Damien Wilson before Alana comments to Randy DeLuca that she did in fact notice his new backpack. Randy swiftly dismisses her and mopes as he walks away, leading Louie to ask Alana what Randy's problem was before Alana dismisses him. Later, in Stashed, he is assisted by Alana Reynolds in retrieving five color-coded training robots to be retrofitted for a mission on Outpost High Ground before Ignacio calls Alana to his office over the intercom. Louie wishes her luck, albeit sarcastically, before she leaves him.
During Overture, Louie alongside the retrofitted robots arrive on Outpost High Ground seeking its captain Cayde Jasper or Jack O'Brien since O'Brien made the distress call in the first place. After getting no response, Louie orders a status report from Green, Yellow, and Red. When Red does not answer, Louie grows frustrated and orders Pink or Blue to check on him before getting sniped in the head by an unknown carbine shot which kills him instantly. His body is later seen in Retrograde as Emery lurks around the outpost, with Emery taking notice of his chest plate and taking it for himself before encountering Damned.
Events of Red Line
During a conversation between Matilda Fern and Pidge Emmel in OFF_THE_RECORD_DO_NOT_UPLOAD, the former mentions having interviewed Louie as well as Alana Reynolds on behalf of their SPARTAN-IV unit "Fireteam Cosmo" before Chaplin Times abruptly cancelled the story.

  Louie during Upgrade In Upgrade, the second episode of WarGames, he is assigned by Ignacio to lead a group of retrofitted training robots to investigate a distress call from Outpost High Ground, believing it to be a revival of The Flood. However, in Deception, he discovers he had been set up by the UNSC to act as bait for the Flood. Before he could react, he is shot in the head by Corvus. In Ambush, his body is found by Emery Eden after the latter's own attack on Outpost High Ground, who ends up stealing Louie's chest plate to complete his armor set. Trivia
- Emery Eden takes Louie's chest plate during WarGames to complete the former's armor set. This was to explain a production error from Classic Season 2.
- In the original concept for Deception, Louie would have actually encountered the Flood and died by infection. This was because the episode was to be filmed in the Halo 4 engine prior to the setting being changed to Outpost High Ground as a tribute to Major Malfunction, changing the trajectory of WarGames overall.
- He almost appeared in Curtain Call...Encore!, where he would be seen conversing with Ignacio Dominguez prior to the latter being debriefed by Emily Vega. This moment was cut when the scene's setting was changed and Ignacio was replaced by Randy DeLuca.
