Chaplin Times is first mentioned in Bounty Wanted, when journalists Pidge Emmel and Fawkes McShane mention having left Chaplin Times after a corporate buyout from Trinity Advancements to start their Red Line podcast.

Its name, Chaplin Times, is a reference to silent film actor Charlie Chaplin as an illusion to the newspaper silencing stories from Red Line protagonists Pidge Emmel and Fawkes McShane.
