The Flood is a parasitic species that can infect any living thing in the galaxy to make part of the Sinkhole hivemind. It is mentioned briefly by Ignacio Dominguez during WarGames as he suspects that a Flood outbreak is what is occurring at Outpost High Ground, though he is mistaken.
