Halo is a series of military science-fiction video games originally developed by Bungie Studios and later 343 Industries that are published by Xbox Game Studios. The world of these games are the basis for Guard Duty, which takes place a decade after the events of Halo 3. The events of Halo: Combat Evolved to Halo 4 are considered canonical to Guard Duty, with the series largely ignoring the events of Halo 5: Guardians and beyond.
Halo 3
Halo 3 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie Studios and released in 2007. Ever since its debut, Guard Duty has been filmed within this game.
The port of this game by 343 Industries included within Halo would be used starting with Elsewhere, the fourth episode of Classic Season 2. Prior to this, the Mythic multiplayer-only version included with Halo 3: ODST was used to film the series.
