- This episode is a remake of the original series pilot from 2011, with the biggest change being the improved visual quality as well as June's personality being more apathetic as opposed to kind.
- The beginning shot of Geff and June is a reference to the first episode of the popular web series Red vs. Blue, featuring a reverse of that episode's pan by going up to down instead of down to up.
- Elements of this episode would later be incorporated into Wish.
