- In early drafts of Rat's Nest, Dina was going to be Dino Jones prior to his reassignment to Outpost Pit Fall alongside Percy O'Hara. This was changed by Syp The Mighty, who felt it would be too similar to Jace Casper's inclusion. Dina being Dino's sister is a subtle nod to this.
- While Dina was introduced in BIG NEWS!, an episode of Guard Duty Sides, she was meant to debut in Rat's Nest prior to its production delays.
- Dina's ODST helmet and name are references to Dino Jones, who debuted with an ODST helmet in Classic Season 2.
