Revision as of 10:23, 23 March 2024
Season 1, also called Sapphire, is the first major installment in the Guard Duty series, airing since December 22, 2023. Set on the seemingly pointless Outpost Black Out, Season 1 introduces soldier Geff Rodrigo as he tries to stay positive despite his growing disillusionment with his role in the UNSC and his fellow soldiers stationed at the same outpost.
It is a reimagining of Classic Season 1, retelling that story in a more expansive way with the entire voice cast of Classic Season 2 reprising their roles.

Trivia
- This is the first production in which Syp and Revoltge co-wrote every episode together. As such, it is also the first production to credit both Syp and Revoltge as creators, rather than just Syp.
- This is also the first season to feature Cole Vakassian serving as series composer, taking over from Syp and Revoltge.
- During development, this season was referred to as Guard Duty Anniversary, in reference to the remakes of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo, both subtitled Aniversary.
- With 13 voice actors, this season has the largest voice cast of any Spite Box production to date.
- The second half of the season was delayed to give composer Cole Vakassian time to give those episodes a personalized score.
- After the first half of the season aired, Syp began referring to this season as Sapphire with the intent for the reimagining of Classic Season 2 to be called Emerald.
