- This episode is a remake of the original series pilot from 2011, with the biggest change being the improved visual quality as well as Josh's personality being more cynical as opposed to hopeful.
- The beginning shot of Geff and Josh is a reference to the first episode of the popular web series Red vs. Blue, featuring a reverse of that episode's pan by going up to down instead of down to up.
