*The logo for this series was designed by Corvaeraas, another member of Steel Lion Media and friend of Syp. She also voices herself in the Delayed PSA.
*The title of this special comes from the question "What's your major malfunction, numbnuts?!", exclaimed by R. Lee Ermey's character Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in the 1987 film Full Metal Jacket.
*If the series had continued, there were plans for Corvaeraas and Blankslate_GG, another member of Steel Lion Media and friend of Syp, to voice their own designated characters. Due to the premature end of both the original and the Firelight iterations of the series, these characters were never introduced. Regardless, Blankslate_GG would later takeover as the voice of O'Brien for his brief appearance in the final episode of WarGames while  Corvaeraas provides the voice of the Brigadier in Guard Duty.
*The logo for this special was designed by Corvaeraas, another member of Steel Lion Media and friend of Syp The Mighty.
*While original music from Revoltge was used in this series, those tracks were originally composed for use in Guard Duty Classic during the development of Annoyances. Due to Syp directing both series, some tunes were used in this series prior to their use in Guard Duty Classic. Syp would later use these tracks in Classic Season 2, over ten years later, as well as Guard Duty Sides.
*A sequel/reboot series was produced by Firelight Studios around the same time as Annoyances in 2012, retroactively called Major Malfunction II, that featured the same characters but Jones wore an ODST helmet instead of the Mark VI and O'Brien died in its third episode. Three episodes were made, in which Syp archived on her personal channel.
*After its sudden cancellation, this series was remade/rebooted as Major Malfunction II, which is considered non-canonical. This wouldn't be the first attempt at rebooting the series after its initial runs, as the third episode of II was actually considered a standalone third iteration titled Up in Smoke when it was initially produced. Other attempts never made it past writing stages, and the concept was ultimately shelved until over ten years later, when the final two episodes of WarGames would see a return for the characters and payoff the cliffhanger left by this series. This retroactively made Major Malfunction canonical to Guard Duty, which was not the intent during its production.
*Had the special continued as a series, there were plans for Corvaeraas (voice of the Brigadier) to voice a character named "Payne" and Blankslate (voice of Miller) to voice a character name "Jasper". Jasper would end up being introduced in Machine, the fourth episode of Season 1, with Blankslate providing his voice, while elements of Payne were incorporated into the Brigadier.
*Unlike every other series, which are hosted on the Spite Box channel, individual episodes of Major Malfunction are archived on Syp's personal channel. The movie edit of this series, however, is on the Spite Box channel with every other series.
*This special reuses songs originally composed for Annoyances, which were later used in Classic Season 2.
*The final episode of the series, Episode 4, is entirely made up of recycled footage from WarGames and was mostly made for Syp's own amusement.
*Individual episodes of Major Malfunction are archived on Syp's personal channel, rather than the Spite Box channel.
*This special was filmed, edited, and written week by week when released as a series, with Syp getting burnt out by its fourth episode and leading to the premature ending of Major Malfunction.
*As director, lead writer, and co-creator, Syp retained ownership of the series after Steel Lion Media dissolved.
*Over ten years after this special ended on a cliffhanger, the two final episodes of WarGames would reveal the fates of the guards and who attacked them.
*This is the only Guard Duty project to not feature Geff Rodrigo, Mitchell Miller, nor Emery Eden, due to being considered a standalone series without any ties to Guard Duty when it was first made.

Trivia

 • The title of this special comes from the question "What's your major malfunction, numbnuts?!", exclaimed by R. Lee Ermey's character Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in the 1987 film Full Metal Jacket.
 • The logo for this special was designed by Corvaeraas, another member of Steel Lion Media and friend of Syp The Mighty.
 • A sequel/reboot series was produced by Firelight Studios around the same time as Annoyances in 2012, retroactively called Major Malfunction II, that featured the same characters but Jones wore an ODST helmet instead of the Mark VI and O'Brien died in its third episode. Three episodes were made, in which Syp archived on her personal channel.
 • Had the special continued as a series, there were plans for Corvaeraas (voice of the Brigadier) to voice a character named "Payne" and Blankslate (voice of Miller) to voice a character name "Jasper". Jasper would end up being introduced in Machine, the fourth episode of Season 1, with Blankslate providing his voice, while elements of Payne were incorporated into the Brigadier.
 • This special reuses songs originally composed for Annoyances, which were later used in Classic Season 2.
 • Individual episodes of Major Malfunction are archived on Syp's personal channel, rather than the Spite Box channel.
 • This special was filmed, edited, and written week by week when released as a series, with Syp getting burnt out by its fourth episode and leading to the premature ending of Major Malfunction.
 • As director, lead writer, and co-creator, Syp retained ownership of the series after Steel Lion Media dissolved.
 • Over ten years after this special ended on a cliffhanger, the two final episodes of WarGames would reveal the fates of the guards and who attacked them.
 • This is the only Guard Duty project to not feature Geff Rodrigo, Mitchell Miller, nor Emery Eden, due to being considered a standalone series without any ties to Guard Duty when it was first made.
