Lieutenant Alana Reynolds was a SPARTAN-IV supersoldier who worked under Ignacio Dominguez, voiced by Syp The Mighty.

Personality

Alana was a stern woman who followed orders and didn't like questions nor being questioned. She wasn't very perceptive, however.

Role in Plot

Events of Season 1

In Team Cosmo!, Alana and Louie Vargas observe the video message left by a now-deceased Damien Wilson before Alana comments to Randy DeLuca that she did in fact notice his new backpack. Randy swiftly dismisses her and mopes as he walks away, leading Louie to ask Alana what Randy's problem was before being dismissed by Alana. Later, in Stashed, she assists Louie Vargas in retrieving five color-coded training robots to be retrofitted for a mission on Outpost High Ground before Ignacio calls her to his office over the intercom. Upon going to Ignacio, Alana learns she is being taken off the High Ground case in favor of transferring the guards of Outpost Black Out to Trinity, much to Alana's confusion and chagrin.

Sometime after, during Overture, Alana arrives to a silent Outpost Pit Fall only to shrug it off before heading to her pelican. Unbeknownst to her, she was being followed by a teal soldier who later made himself known arguing with himself behind the pilot's deck door inside the pelican. After commanding him to lay down his weapons and hold his hands up, Alana opens the door to a laughing Emery who proceeds to kick her. Despite her attempts to fight him off, Emery dodged her attacks before snapping her neck over his shoulder, killing her instantly. Emery later poses as her to the guards of Outpost Black Out during Retrograde, claiming Alana's first name to be gender neutral. Her body is later found by the Brigadier and Valentine in the same episode, where they discover her helmet logs were deleted.

In Boss, Alana joins Ignacio Dominguez in gathering the training robots for their first real mission. Later, in Upgrade, she is sent to transfer the guards stationed at Outpost Black Out to the headquarters of Trinity. At the end of Ambush, Randy DeLuca tells Ignacio that he has lost communication with Alana and her pelican.

Arriving at Outpost Black Out in The Transfer, she is killed by Emery Eden during the events of Infinity.

Trivia

  • She was originally voiced by Intro-Mind, with a deeper voice portrayal, in her debut vocal appearance before Syp went in another direction for the character in Infinity.
  • She and Emery Eden were to be one in the same during the initial planning for Infinity, being an inexperienced UNSC pilot that would go unnamed, but this was changed upon Revoltge joining the series. Her one line in the episode, in which she says "Reasons...", and Geff questioning Emery about what happened to her is all that remains of her appearance in this episode. Despite only having one line, Syp would retain the portrayal from that delivery upon Alana's return in WarGames ten years later.
  • Her appearance is inspired by the Spartan designs of Halo 4, exclusively using armor introduced within Halo: The Master Chief Collection's version of Halo 3.
    • While she wore the Hammerhead chest plate with teal as her secondary color in Boss, she has worn the Infiltrator chest plate with cyan as her secondary color in every subsequent appearance.
