Red is a protocol robot who was used by Ignacio Dominguez to investigate an incident on Outpost High Ground, dubbing himself as Red The Hunter.
Role in Plot
Red Training Robot
In Boss, Red is recruited by Ignacio Dominguez and Alana Reynolds against his will to take part in a real military operation and is deactivated by Ignacio to do so. The next day, in Upgrade, Red is reactivated alongside the other training robots and informed more about their incoming mission by Ignacio Dominguez and led by Spartan Louie Vargas to investigate a suspected Flood outbreak, much to Red's enjoyment. Upon landing on Outpost High Ground with Louie and the other robots in Deception, he is tasked with watching their backs with his sniper rifle. Despite this, Red is immediately apprehended by three Sangheili as soon as the others walked away from him.
The next day, in Ambush, Riel and Kazi hold Red and the other robots as prisoner as Riel explains that she and her companions are members of The Damned before Corvus enters to explain the situation and attempts recruiting Red and the other robots to join The Damned, though Red wakes up midway through the conversation. After Blue is eliminated, Red joins Yellow and Green in a warthog to follow Corvus and the Sangheili but is immediately attacked and blown up by Emery Eden with all three being destroyed.
Trivia
- He was voiced by series creator Syp The Mighty in his debut appearance.
- He briefly appears in Why-Fi in a gag with Green, though he doesn't speak and is wearing Recon armor rather than his usual Mark VI.
- Randy DeLuca has a backpack of Red, indicating he's proud of him.
- He is an older character from Syp's older series BattleDudes with Blue in three episodes titled NOM, CONVO, and WORK as well as an episode with Yellow and Green in SPARTANS, the latter of which WarGames seemingly continues directly after.
