Captain Cayde Jasper is a soldier stationed on Outpost High Ground, voiced by Blankslate_GG. He is the head guard of his outpost.

Not much is known about Jasper, though he does seem to respect Spartans.

Role in Plot

Events of Season 1

In Machine, Jasper goes on a solo patrol to the beach of Outpost High Ground where he encounters Emery Eden. Believing him to be a Spartan, Jasper greeted Emery before being knocked unconscious by him.

Trivia

• Jasper was originally intended to appear in Major Malfunction, to be introduced in its unrealized fourth episode with Blankslate_GG providing his voice, though he was to be established as always having been there via retcon and be the same rank as Collins and Jones. Regardless, Blankslate_GG did indeed provide Jasper's voice in this episode over ten years after this scrapped appearance, albeit with different voice direction.
  • The original personality of the character was carried over to Jace Casper, whose name is a reference to Jasper.
• Blankslate_GG's performance as Jasper inspired Syp The Mighty to cast him as Mitchell Miller starting with the fifth episode of Season 1.
• His first name is never stated in-series, with Syp coming up with it during the production of Machine. During development on Major Malfunction, its creators considered his full name to be Clay Jasper.
