Trivia

  • This outpost was named after the Halo 3 map it uses, Blackout. As for why series creator Syp The Mighty chose this map in the first place, she believed it would give the show a unique feel to always be set at night.
  • Syp chose the Halo 2 map Lockout to represent this outpost in the past because it's the precursor to Blackout, the map used for this outpost in Halo 3.
    • According to Miller in Memo Chat, this outpost was previously named "Outpost Lock Out" in reference to this.
  • Black Out was destroyed at the end of Classic Season 1. As Season 1 is still airing, it is unclear if it will have the same fate in the current continuity.
  • While Syp chose to use the Halo 3 maps The Pit for the Sides episodes Why-Fi and Tagged, as well as High Ground for Heated, Syp considers those episodes to take place on Black Out during Classic Season 1.
