Season 1, also called Season One, is the first season of Guard Duty post-relaunch, airing from December 22, 2023 until August 19, 2024. It was directed by Syp The Mighty from a screenplay she wrote with Revoltge, focusing on the day-to-day lives of the dysfunctional soldiers stationed on Outpost Black Out. At the same time, their HQ investigates attacks on its other outposts by alien space pirates while a mysterious soldier seeks out Geff Rodrigo on the outpost as part of a larger plan.

This season is an expanded remake of Classic Season 1, incorporating elements of WarGames and Classic Season 2 as a reboot of Classic altogether. Its At The Movies re-release premiered on October 25, 2024, just over two months after it aired. A sequel, titled Guard Duty: Echoes, is planned to enter production in 2025.

  • The entire cast of Classic Season 2 reprise their roles, now joined by Blankslate as Miller, while Classic Season 1 cast members Winter and Firesinopa return in new roles.
  • This is the first production in which Syp and Revoltge co-wrote every episode together. As such, it is also the first production to credit both Syp and Revoltge as creators, rather than just Syp.
  • This is also the first season to feature Cole Vakassian serving as series composer, taking over from Syp and Revoltge.
  • This season was predominantly written in late 2023, with subsequent additions added while filming throughout 2024.
  • During development, this season was referred to as Guard Duty Anniversary, in reference to the remakes of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, both subtitled Aniversary.
  • After the first five episodes were released, the remainder of this season was delayed due to Syp having to reinstall her computer's operating system which led to her losing her original editing software. As a result, she took the time to learn Adobe Premiere Pro for Machine and Replacement before placing the series on an unplanned hiatus due to the complicated nature of subsequent episodes.
    • The delay also gave time for composer Cole Vakassian to compose additional tracks for the season, including rearrangements of the tunes composed by Revoltge and Syp for Classic Season 2.
  • In the original airing of this season, Syp The Mighty provided the voice of Miller in its first four episodes as well as Forge and Corvus. • While referred to as Season 1 (numerical 1) when it first aired, it is referred to as Season One (phonetically One) in both its soundtrack and At The Movies re-release.
