  • During production and in the original script, this episode was titled Promotion before Syp had changed the title to Overture in reference to this episode's status as a turning point for the series as the true start of its story as well as because Syp wanted the episode to have a more memorable name.
  • The fax machine from Fax appears in the background while Sarah and Nicole converse over Mexican food, shown to have been thrown in the trash since that episode.
  • It is revealed that Pathfinder works for Trinity, a company first mentioned in Replacement and again in Stashed.
