Guard Duty Classic was a Halo-based machinima comedy series created by Syp The Mighty, airing from January 5, 2012 to July 31, 2023 across two seasons with 13 episodes. It is centered on a disgruntled Geff Rodrigo as he struggles to accept his job as a guard on Outpost Black Out. It was filmed within Halo 3 game engine before switching to The Master Chief Collection game engine for its final five episodes.
This series was rebooted with Season 1, an expansive remake of Classic Season 1 that also incorporates elements of Classic Season 2 and WarGames.

- Syp The Mighty was largely inspired by the popular Halo machinima series Red vs. Blue when she made Classic Season 1. When developing Classic Season 2, Syp intentionally avoided rewatching Red vs. Blue as she sought different inspirations particularly in adult animated series Archer and Harley Quinn as well as sitcom Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the 2021 film The Suicide Squad.
